So my gf got into a car accident. she was in a lane merging onto another lane and she said the person behind her sped up, merged into the lane my gf merged into and both cars ended up scraping each other. the lady had a few scratches while my gf’s fender was slightly bent in. she cant really open her car door now. everyone claimed to be fine including my gf’s “friend.” in the end it was my gf who was at fault.
Now a week later my gf’s friend is claiming that she sustained soft tissue damage and now she filed a claim. obviously, the feeling of betrayal is a whole different story but here’s my concern. The friend went hiking right after the accident, and then again twice that week. shes been going to work, and i believe shes been going to the gym as well. she said she went to the doctor and she said she was in a car accident and it was probably whiplash, so the doctor said yes it was that and not hiking, since it doesnt use your lower back(she said her lower back, shoulder and neck hurt).
I think its a fraudulent claim, everyone was fine, the impact was low and i think shes taking advantage of my friend. What do you all think? and besides telling my insurance, which I have, do you have any other advice?
Shes taking advantage of my gf**
Part of asking this questions is to find out if I could do anything to help my girlfriend. Why would I want to “stay out of it?” if I’m trying to help her from getting screwed over, you oaf. So of course I want to do some investigation to help not only my gf, but her insurance company as well. Whether or not they need it is a different story. As far as the betrayal thing, yeah I agree, probably not worth mentioning that in Yahoo. And keeping my opinion to myself because that’s what men do…really?!?!how about deleting your post, you hypocrite! You just gave me your opinion!

well originally it was all understood the other vehicle(Allsatate full coverage insurance) was at fault(no one was cited) but now 2 montha later Allstate has said it was my daughters friend fault and they are dropping the claims??? Well any way…my daughter had 5 grand in med. bills and is in college with no job!!!! How do we get this paid??? My daughter does not drive and has no auto ins. Should we get a lawyer and fight this??or will that just put us in more debt?
neither driver got a citation…ok…her friends car was totalled and they had minor injuries that did require medical attention..and for my daughter-she hurt her knee and the medical will be on going…anyway…Allstate was the other drivers insurance and she told my daughter and friend on the first initial phone conversation that they would be willing “to settle” and that all bills would be paid..blah blah..blah…and that she would get back with them…well needless to say…she has NOT gotten back with them nor returned ANY phone calls for ghoing on 4 weeks now…..should we get a lawyer???? we just want the med bills paid.
my daughter does not drive and has no auto ins
even the police report said the other driver was at fault

Two carjacking suspects were in custody Wednesday after the vehicle in which they were fleeing from deputies crashed into a pickup truck in South Los Angeles, killing the man who was driving it, authorities said.
Paramedics sent to Century Boulevard west of Vermont Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. pronounced a man dead at the scene, d’Lisa Davies of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Miguel Castro Falcon, 46, of Los Angeles, died in the accident, said Capt. Ed Winter of the coroner’s office.
The vehicle, a Toyota Camry, that crashed into the truck had been carjacked at gunpoint shortly before 5 a.m., Deputy Johnie Jones of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau said.
Deputies saw it about 7 a.m. and started chasing it, but backed off when they were told it was just a stolen vehicle, Jones said. It then crashed into the pickup truck.
The passenger in the Camry was arrested at the scene after getting into one of several other vehicles that were involved in the collision and trying to pass himself off as a victim, deputies said.
The driver fled but was caught about 90 minutes later, Jones said.
Both suspects were 16 years old, Los Angeles police said.
“I felt that they left him in the car too long,” Charles Rhodes, who said Falcon’s sons were in his karate class. “He (sat) there and suffered for about 10 minutes before he died. And that’s unfortunate, that a police pursuit went bad.”
The watch commander called off the chase “figuring that … the suspect would slow down and nobody would get injured from the incident.”
