I’ve caused two accidents in parking lots, both within a year, and this is the year I started driving. Both were stupid. First one, I didn’t look around before I backed out and hit a car. Second one, I left the engine running when I got out and (The battery was drained and I was charging it) accidentally put it in to drive. The first one cost about $2500. The second one will take just $500 for the repairs and I don’t know how much that would be with the other person’s deductible. There was no one in the other cars to claim injury, and I called police right after both accidents.
It seems like I might have to do one of two things, depending on whether anyone will offer me insurance in the future.
1. If anyone will offer me insurance at all, my premium will undoubtedly be high. Keep driving with the high premium and try to keep my future driving record clean, and eventually my premium will come down.
2. If no one offers me insurance, or if the premium is too high, sell my car and stop driving. But I don’t know if my premium will come down after a while. Will it?
Thanks.
