Should I involve a lawyer if I was involved in a car accident that i have sustained injury from?

I was recently involved in a car accident. Rear ended quite badly by a Maxi Taxi. In Queensland Australia. The driver was charged. Police report filed etc… I have sustained whiplash and back injuries from the accident. I am currently claiming through CTP insurance but have had been advised by a few friends to go and see a no win no fee lawyer. I am off work for a month and have alot of restrictions. Am seeing physio 2-3 times a week. The CTP insurance is covering my doctors bills etc but my main concern is if I will be able to return to work and when. But… I just don’t have a full understanding of what a lawyer can do for me and how beneficial it would be for me. At this present point in time I am focusing on getting myself well but what about my future? Will I be compensated for any further problems etc…. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel that the insurance company is just trying to put me through their system as fast as possible and to them I know I am just another number on their books!

Can I be sued for injuries sustained during a car accident?

A little less than a year ago, I was in a “Minimal impact” fender bender. It went on record to be 100% my fault and my insurance paid out $1600.00 to the person I hit for damages to her car. Claims remain open for three years. Early this week I found out that this woman is now claiming medical injury and has proof of “Soft tissue injury”. I have been in contact with my insurance claims agent – She is not supportive, and only tells me every possibility. I was told that if the damages exceed 25,000 dollars – this woman can sue me for the remain amount. What are the chances that I will be sued?

Does anyone else agree that this world is corrupt? A middle aged well-off woman is attempting to sue a 19 year old college student. She drove an obnoxiously large SUV, I drive a little ford focus. I seriously doubt she is THAT injured.

How do I work with a car insurance injury claim?

I was a victim of a rear-end accident and was in Chiropractic therapy for a handful of months.
(neck & back pain)
Insurance has paid for all the medical and work-time lost.
Now 9 months later, the insurance company wants to pay me to settle/end my case.
My neck seems fine, but stiffness at random days. (treatment is over)

Should I take the settlement money?
If so, what is the normal amount usually given for something like this?
