I will be the defendant in this case. My insurance company will represent me, however is it fair? The plaintiff is claiming this costly injury, however the accident was only 16days ago.

So my gf got into a car accident. she was in a lane merging onto another lane and she said the person behind her sped up, merged into the lane my gf merged into and both cars ended up scraping each other. the lady had a few scratches while my gf’s fender was slightly bent in. she cant really open her car door now. everyone claimed to be fine including my gf’s “friend.” in the end it was my gf who was at fault.
Now a week later my gf’s friend is claiming that she sustained soft tissue damage and now she filed a claim. obviously, the feeling of betrayal is a whole different story but here’s my concern. The friend went hiking right after the accident, and then again twice that week. shes been going to work, and i believe shes been going to the gym as well. she said she went to the doctor and she said she was in a car accident and it was probably whiplash, so the doctor said yes it was that and not hiking, since it doesnt use your lower back(she said her lower back, shoulder and neck hurt).
I think its a fraudulent claim, everyone was fine, the impact was low and i think shes taking advantage of my friend. What do you all think? and besides telling my insurance, which I have, do you have any other advice?

Part of asking this questions is to find out if I could do anything to help my girlfriend. Why would I want to “stay out of it?” if I’m trying to help her from getting screwed over, you oaf. So of course I want to do some investigation to help not only my gf, but her insurance company as well. Whether or not they need it is a different story. As far as the betrayal thing, yeah I agree, probably not worth mentioning that in Yahoo. I got involved in a minor car accident on the way working in January. The car in front of me made a sudden stop after making a right turn. I hit its rear. Police came over and wrote a report. There was no damage on either car. My insurance company took pictures for evidence. Since that driver worked for a contractor of our company and we saw each other everyday. He said he was fine then we all went to work. Later that day his boss told me he went to hospital to check his back. Later than that he went to physical therapy. I told my insurance company and got his working vehicle information. He didn’t have my insurance information though. Last month I received letter from his lawyer (he didn’t spell my name right), and compensation organization and my insurance company. The compensation organization said they were continuing paying for the cost. My insurance company said the guy’s lawyer claimed the amount above my coverage. I saw him several times at work after the accident but I haven’t seen him for a while. His job is pretty physical. Now I am wondering if my life will get screwed by the minor accident. What should I do?
My salary is pretty low. It has been four months. If my insurance can’t cover the loss, I am not able to pay it off.
i was in a car accident back in June of 2010, i went through chiropractic and closed my account with them, i’m now having similar back pains again and want to re open my account with them. my insurance claim was never closed and has not been settled yet. but the chiropractor said i needed to contact a attorney about it. what do i need to do to get myself back into chiropractic under the accident claim?
I was in a car accident. The other driver did a “squat and stop” scam. (the driver speeds out quickly in front of another driver so he/she wont have enough time to stop and then sit there so the other driver can hit him/her) However, the other driver’s car insurance trying to settle quick. The driver’s car insurance company did their investigation and came to an conclusion that I was at fault.. (yeah right) The accident happen on 4/20/11 and they trying to settle on 4/28/11. (eight days later) When I mentioned that my attorney was handling the case. All of a sudden the company sending me letters claiming it my fault and I have to pay for my own damages. And, that I have so many years to take the claim to court. (hoping that I want) I just fax everything over to my attorney. I am still going through therapy. I do have car insurance. So, why is the driver’s car insurance company trying to settle the claim quick when they was actually at fault? Please, only knowledgeable people reply. Thank you so much
Note: The driver’s girlfriend was told to fake she was injury because she is pregnant. Also, the driver came out the wrong exit of the driveway speeding..
I had to go to the doctor and use my insurance card plus pay a co-pay. I also filed a bodily injury claim on the other person’s insurance. I was just wondering if their insurance company will reimburse my health insurance and pay my co-pay. How does this work?
I was in a car accident november 12 2011… I was at fault and three people out of the four people in the accident claimed injuries. The property damage for victims car came in the mail February 2012. Im just waiting for the bodily injuries to come in the mail now. My dad says I cant buy another car until my case settles. How long will it take for this case to settle or whats the longest amount of time? Thanks
