I was in a car wreck and the other man who was at faults insurance keeps jerking me around. I’ve tried to meet their adjusters 3 times . all the 3 times the adjusters didn’t show up, were late, or just plain rude.
I’ve gotten really tired of dealing with them. does anyone know anything that would get them seriously in gear without mentioning lawyer?

sorry t ohear that. i hope you are ok. plan to meat them again. at the moment they are to be there, and arent, call them. wait 5 minutes, call them again. keep doing this. if they are rude to you, say it was their client that hit you, not vice versa. ask them if they have went banktrupt recently, and are busy looking for money to give you? do like i do, be a sweet bitch. if al else fails, them you might have to get your attorney involved. if they know you dont have one, then they can string you along till you give up completly on them. thats what they are wanting. good luck.

It is sad, but you are at their mercy.
They make a living by being stingy with insurance company money any way they can.
I tried to be very reasonable with a company insuring Enterprise rental cars after a woman driving one of their cars with no insurance ran into the back of my kids car. She was clearly at fault and was cited.
They were a complete pain in the ass, denied everything, I reluctantly went to an attorney with the claim as they literally did nothing.

I hate to say the dreaded word but, unless you had insurance at the time of the wreck, in which case YOUR insurance co. should take up for you; Lawyer is the only way!!!

Need more details. Were you driving, or a passenger?? Either way, did you notify the ins of your car or the car you were riding in.
Your own ins co can be a big help, but you have to let them know what’s going on.
Dammit, people spend half their lives on a cell phone, but I doesn’t it work when you try to call you ins co??

Honestly, even mentioning a lawyer wont make them care anymore.. thats a big misconception on peoples part. IF there jerks.. there jerks. Ask to speak to a manager and see if they can help you.
If not, it seems like you may want to go through your own insurance company to get this done (they will attempt to get your deductible back)

The lawyer thing does absolutely nothing. They hear is multiple times a day and don’t care.
Call the company and ask to speak with the claims manager. Be very calm and explain what has happened with the adjuster and ask if he/she can help you get the matter resolved. You can go and ask your agent for help. Another misconception is that insurance companies have lawyers sitting around just waiting for someone to call for help. Lawyers are expensive and used when needed. If you turn in the claim to your own company (so long as you have collision coverage) they will take care of the damage minus your deductible and then get it back from the other company

I need more details on this please. What type of claim are you trying to make? A third party claim (means you’re claiming from the insurance company of the person at fault)? Or an Own Damage claim (means you’re claiming from your own insurance company)? I don’t really understand why do you need to deal with the adjuster (of the other party)?
First thing, (from where I lived in Asian continent), if you’re making a third party claim, you get all the necessary police documents and you appoint an independent adjuster (of your own) to ascertain the damages to your vehicle. Then, you submit your claim to the other party’s insurance company.
If you’re making an Own Damage claim, you don’t even need to liaise with anybody. Your insurance company will do everything.
I think I get what you mean, instead of getting an adjuster (on your ownself), you rely on the other party’s insurance company to give you an adjuster to survey your vehicle. Well, that will not do. Call this insurance company again to complain. Speak to the claims manager or their CEO, if you have to. It is highly unlikely that the insurance company knows about the attitudes of the adjusters. Ultimately, you can only wait and see if there is any improvement in their services. If not, complain again. There really is no point in mentioning lawyer(s) as those rude adjusters know that you will not want to incur additional cost of legal fees.

File with your own insurance, and let them subro with other person’s insurance. Otherwise it just sounds like your getting the run a round. Don’t settle for what they first offer there is always room for negotiation. Make sure to get a couple of estimates from at least three different body shops.

california law……
if filing with the other party’s insurance carrier (3rd party)
verify they are accepting liability, secure amount for loss of use ( rental per day)
tell them you are dropping off you car at the shop of your choice and when, get a rental— you have fullfilled you obligation for proof of claim (be aware you are responsible to mitgate your losses)
it is now incumbant on the carrier to inspect your vehicle and settle the loss
Is the car drivable?
legally? tail lamps working, signals, mirrors
safely ? is there any structural or mechanical damage?
if all else fails file a complaint with the Department of Insuance….. all complaints must be answered by the insurance company.
— We do not give a rat’s hairy butt if you get a lawyer…..in face it saves from listening to some whiney ass claimant who doesn’t carry collision coverage or is to cheap to pay his deductable and have his carrier handle the loss and subrogate anyway to recover the damages and your deductable.
if you are not injured you are only spending money to have an adjuster tell your attorney what I just said and it will take longer depending on the competance of an accident atty.
