What kind of injuries did you have? How long did it take you to settle your case? How much did you settle for? What percent did you have to pay for your lawyer?Was your car totalled?
I’m just wanting to know some information on other cases that might have had to go through this. I basically was in a wreck wasn’t our fault. my ankle got injuried and i’ve never had to go with a lawyer before and was just wondering what other people have expericened through this time. and how much they recieved. it has been 3 months ago and i am still having to see docs cause my ankle has not healed yet but if it does i want to know what kind of settlement would i be looking at? my lawyer has his fee of 1/3 of whatever i get. but in other cases what did ya’ll get?

Personally I have been in many accidents caused by other parties. The worst, put me out of work for two years, took five years to settle after the accident. That was the day of the trail when my attorney asked me to settle.
For that he took one third.

Get yourself an attorney. Yes, they’ll take 1/3 but they usually end up getting more from the insurance company thus paying for themselves and saving you a tremendous amount of headache.
