I'm 17 and live in California, Los Angeles and got in an accident and i have no insurance but the car does my dad didn't want to get me insurance because it was too much money. I was making a left turn while the person that hit me had a red light. The total damage is $1,700. The lady said she didn't want to get insurance involved and wanted to settle it one on one, but now she doesn't want to pay saying its my fault for being a teenager. Now I got a latter fro AIG and she maid a claim with her insurance. I got a witness that saw everything the person who was behind me waiting to make a left turn too. What will happen will they suspend my license till im 21? Is there anything i can do right now to avoid that? Please Help

She admitted fault sort of she obviously saw me making the turn and said that she couldn't break? Nothing happened to her car only broken head light and scratch bumper. I get insurance now will that take away the possibility of getting my license suspended
The Police were involved sort of I was heading to school and the school police was there to give me a hand. But no report was made because shes like we are going to handle it one on one. I can get in contact with him.

Also what kind of trouble can my dad get in to?

The car was insured that is the main thing and it is covered because it is insured no matter who drives it. You should be listed as an occasional driver though, none the less it it insured. Call the insurance company and get your witnesses in line with sworn affidavits of what happened. Then let the insurance company take care of it. Learn a lesson here to always, always exchange insurance information and have the police make up a report on the accident. She played your inexperience and nervousness she did not want the insurance involved because she was at fault. Stand up for yourself and do not let this happen. No you will not lose your license as the car was insured.
