Do I need to report the accident to California DMV if I scratched the rental car?

Do I need to report the accident to California DMV if I scratched the rental car while backing from really tight parking space (no one was injured, no other car was involved in an accident, this accident happened at the place where I live currently)? I still don’t know the estimate of the damage to their car, but let’s assume it’s greater than $750.

Thanks!

Yes, you have to report the accident to the DMV if the damages are over $750 or if there’s any bodily injury. If the insurance company reports this before you do, the DMV will suspend your license for not reporting it.

Motorcycle accidents make the news, have you laid a bike down?

If so, what would be your advice for a previous rider who has the itch? What is your advice on managing an accident. Thanks.

Never "lay her down", never abandon the vehicle. Dress for the fall, ride like you’re invisible.
