Shall we expect a rise motorcycle accidents/deaths?

As more people seem to be more attracted in buying motorcycles to get better gas mileage with gas prices being so high, can we expect alot more inexperienced riders on the road resulting in many more accidents than we normally would see and maybe an increase in insurances?

Or can we expect alot more motorcycles on the road, period, resulting in less larger cars and trucks on the road which may actually make the roads more safe for motorcyclists?

Look at the number of people on this forum inquiring which sport bike is good for a beginner. The number of incredibly fast, high speed motorcycles in the hands of complete novices will continue to lead to an increase in accidents and fatalities. The other aspect that will increase accidents/deaths is the high number of unskilled, uncaring, angry, distracted motorists. For example I have never witnessed so many drivers blatantly running red lights in the last few years as I have during the previous 30 or so years of driving.
If I was in charge, it would be a lot harder to get a driver’s license. The fees would be about 4 figures. That money would go toward real driver’s education. A new driver would be required to attend an advanced driving school such as the one offered by the Bob Bondurant driving school.
Also I would pull a lot more licenses and impound the offender’s vehicle. Blatant disregard for safe driving would not be tolerated. The laws would have real teeth to make it very clear the consequences for bad unsafe driving/riding.
Same would go for driving and drinking. Drunk driving also would not be tolerated if I was in charge. So many lives have been prematurely ended due to some fool have a few too many and getting behind the wheel.

What happens when someone crashes into a car of someone that has a license, but no insurance?

Does it really matter if the person that had their car crashed by someone else doesn’t have insurance? Does the person without insurance holds the right to get the car damages paid for even if the victim didn’t have insurance? I would really appreciate your help!

If someone, license or not crashes into someone and they don’t have insurance they don’t a way to pay the victim so the victims insurance company will pay for the victim, but not the guilty party.

Want to buy life insurance but will it cover motorcycle accidents?

My husband has a motorcycle. Just bought it. I would like to take out a life insurance policy so I can afford our home or his funeral if someone texting on their cell phone kills him.

Do most life insurance policies include motorcycle exclusions or increase premium if you own motorcycle. I do NOT want to end up with an invalid policy.

Easier to ask the insurance company rather than us. Different companies may have different policies re: motorcycles, although I wasn’t aware it was difficult to get life insurance for motorcycle riders.

Who causes more car crashes: Newly-licensed teens or the elderly?

I say "car crashes" because I strongly believe that most of them are due to people not paying attention or being safe.

One reason why the young have so many accidents happens when the driver is distracted. One of the biggest distractions is when other youths are also present in the car. However, using a cell phone and texting is getting up there (seldom done by the elderly).

I was involved in a car accident in california, which the other driver was 100% at fault. How does ins.?

company figure out how much to pay me for pain and suffering? My lawyer’s legal assistant told me the more the ins. company pays for my car damage, the more i will get for medical. Is this true?

You should be asking your attorney this question. Nobody will be able to provide you with an appropriate answer without knowing the following: What are your injuries? Are you still treating? Are you treating with a reputable doctor or were you referred to a chiro by your attorney? Are you employed? Missing any time from work? Will your injuries leave you with a permanent disability? What are your medical expenses?

No, the amount of damage to your vehicle does not determine how much you will be compensated. Small scratch on a KIA – $1000 to repair. Same small scratch on a Lamborghini – $4000 to repair.

However, the severity of the impact certainly helps validate your injury claim. Let’s hope the legal assistant is not handling your claim.

How many years do I have to place a lawsuit ?

I live in California Los Angeles and I was in a car accident a couple of months ago, I was wondering how many months or years do I have to suit this person? He was driving with no insurance and no driver license. My insurance company called his house his never home and we can’t get in touch with him. I have decided I will take it a step further and I am planning on suing him, but I can’t remember how much time I have to do this claim.

You have 2 years before the statue of limitation takes place. So you have 24 months from the date of the incident..
